Our extroverts have figured out the broadly expected and accepted responses to the social cues. They are largely the contributors to generating these acceptances as well. Whereas our introverts find themselves socially awkward making themselves and the others around them uncomfortable. On the surface, this sounds like a naive behavior but it plays a vital part in exploration and discovery without which events and dynamics that make everyday experiences would be so similar blocking creativity and learning of why we behave the way we do.

We can choose to be blind to the many variables and unknowns in everything we see. But we cannot deny their existence.

Known theories and concepts are all true until they are proven wrong.

While we don’t have the time in our daily routine to be on the lookout for these unknowns and dissect them, we can simply be aware of the mystery that life is to appreciate the surprises with an open mind.

This doesn’t mean employing radical thinking to challenge the state of everything. It means allowing the curious mind to dwell to find out why the current state exists. This understanding might call for the need for radical thinking birthing ideas that lead to changing our lives for the good.

Introverts stay in their protective zone of silence.

This silence can be deafening because of the observations being made, thoughts being pondered, connections, and revelations that become apparent. The more they understand, the more they realize there is to understand. Adopting this state of mind of an introvert will change the experience of life as it is today with a growing appreciation for what has been figured out for us so far.

We will not fear to be wrong as that would just mean uncovering another mystery. We will free ourselves from prejudice. We will pause more and experience more.

Unfortunately, the speed of today’s life doesn’t help with experiencing life this way.

The applaudable inventions of technology are vital to improve the quality of life — to bring us together in spite of the prevalent discriminations, to fight hunger, poverty, unemployment, and diseases, and to make the world an even accessible place for everyone. But it is not one to control the way of life.

Discovery today is one touch away in our smartphones.

Influences and interpretations in addition to the factual news are fed to us. We create peer pressure by the perfect picture of our lives we draw on social networks. We have a virtual self that is bolder, prettier, smarter, and louder than the real self. All these have made it all the more difficult to truly know what we know and what we want to know to be able to seek out more.

We suffer from the obligation to meet the expectations for perfection.

And we as a result set these expectations ourselves as well. This is the first step in unwelcoming the desire to experiencing the unknown.

It is alright to pause and let go of our judgments to experience the mystery of self and that of the others we meet.
